About Me!

Hello, I'm so happy you're here! My name is Melissa West and I am currently a Senior Music Education major with a Minor in Musical Theatre at Lebanon Valley College. My primary instrument is voice, however I am proficient at piano, ukulele, and many more. At LVC, I participated in College Choir, Concert Choir and Modern Band Ensemble while also being heavily involved in the student run theatre company on campus. I also took many music education classes ranging from Choral Conducting to Instrumental Methods courses where we learned how to play every instrument family. I am from Hamburg, Pennsylvania where I was involved in every music and theatre thing I could be. For example, I was involved in Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Tri-M, Drama Club, and more. Throughout my life I have performed in over 20 musicals and plays ranging from lead characters, to ensemble, to understudies. I have also helped backstage in over 5 shows as Director, Stage Manager, and Producer. In this portfolio you will see my teaching experiences, my teaching statement and everything that has made me the teacher I am today.
