My first student teaching placement was at Ebenezer Elementary school in the Cornwall Lebanon School District where I learned from Mrs. Samantha Dundore. At this placement I taught 1st-5th Grade General Music, 4th-5th Grade Choir, and 2 K-2 Autistic Support music classes. With the choir I taught them a song and worked with them on their other songs when my co-op was out. With each grade I taught 2 different units ranging from rhythm, melody, and form (1st-3rd) to Ukulele, Recorder, and Musical Theater (3rd-5th).
My second student teaching placement was at Warwick School District with Mr. Jonathan Shoff. At this placement I taught High School Choir, Unified Music, Music Theory II and Vocal Music II. I also got to work with the Middle School Choir. I worked with the High School Choir everyday on the piece I conducted in their concert, Earth Song by Frank Ticheli. With this song I got to really fine tune the song and work on their expressions and phrasing.
I taught a Pre-k musikgarten class to six 2-6 year olds and their parents. In this class we would sing songs, play games with the songs, and focus on fine motor skills through music. The class met once a week for about 45 minutes and I worked primarily with the whole group.
